Jenkins Estate
The Jenkins Estate is a 68-acre property that the Tualatin Hills Park & Recreation District acquired in 1976. The estate is tucked into a wooded niche on Cooper Mountain, and it’s listed both nationally (Nationally Register of Historic Places) and locally for its historical significance to the local community.
The Jenkins Estate is a historic estate with ties to royalty, built for the English royal family in anticipation of their return from America. The main house has seven bedrooms and includes many original fixtures that are still present today, such as grand pianos or artwork on every surface imaginable throughout this impressive property.
Situated at 8005 SW Grabhorn Rd, Beaverton, OR 97007, the Jenkins Estate is a historic site with natural resources that must be preserved for future generations. THPRD started an assessment process in the summer of 2017, which was to help guide the activities and goals of this estate’s community needs when it comes to recreation or history preservation, among other things, such as resource protection from damage caused by people who don’t care about our surroundings any more than we do.
The Jenkins Estate has a luxurious English hunting lodge-style home that was built on the property’s existing farmhouse. The new additions include an ornamental pool, a tea house, and lavish gardens with elaborate landscaping designs to match its elegant exterior design elements, such as gazebos or follies, in order for visitors who come by car to feel welcome when they first arrive at this prominent establishment.
Jenkins Estate has been a popular landmark for decades, thanks to its 68-acre size and open accessibility. The grounds are home to not only historic buildings but also interactive exhibits that provide an immersive experience of life as it was back when this area had more natural beauty than anywhere else around.
Perhaps the best way to experience Jenkins Estate is on one of its self-guided tours. With nearly two miles worth, you’ll have plenty of opportunities for breathtaking views and trails that lead up into nature’s beauty. The trails are well-maintained with great views of the gardens, valley, and surrounding mountainsides.
Jenkins Estate has eight buildings and lavish grounds that can be explored as part of self-guided tours throughout the year. Some of the buildings at this estate are also rented out for private special events, including weddings, community meetings, or company parties—it’s an ideal place to have your dream event.
Jenkins Estate is a stunning location for any occasion. With its historical grounds, ample amenities, and catering from Dalton’s Northwest Catering, you’ll be able to host an unforgettable event or simply enjoy one of the many scenic views on offer at this picturesque venue.
