Braydon Park
Frank and Josephine Redmond, who began homesteading in the area in 1906, are honored with the naming of Redmond. An irrigation corporation that was in the process of developing a canal across the area was responsible for platting the city. In 1911, the town was officially incorporated. The Oregon Trunk Railroad arrived in town in the same year, ushering in an era of unprecedented economic growth. By the 1940s, the population of the town had increased to several thousand, which can be attributed to the fact that local farmers and merchants had access to new markets. The population of Redmond saw an increase of more than 70.5% during the first decade of the new century, which resulted in an explosion of the city’s population.
