Allie Brosh
Brosh is a popular comic artist, blogger, and writer who currently lives in the city of Bend. She gained national recognition for her masterpiece “Hyperbole and a Half” webcomic which was published in 2009. Brosh has been listed as a very “influential and creative thinker and doer” with her blog also earning the reputation of one of the “funniest sites” on the internet.
Jourdan Miller
Miller is an internationally recognized fashion model who was born in Olympia, WA but grew up in Bend, OR. Miller gained her popularity after winning America’s Next Top Model’s twentieth cycle. This win landed her on the cover pages of several popular magazines and consequently, several modeling contracts with top companies. Miller recently made appearances in music videos for Finnish singer Niila and Fences.
Ashton Eaton
Retired Olympic Gold medalist Ashton James Eaton is another former resident of Bend city. Eaton moved to the city while he was in 5th grade. He started competing in different games at a very tender age but his specialization in decathlon only came after he joined the University of Oregon. He is one of the very few Olympians who have won back-to-back decathlon gold medals in the history of the sport. He has a total of 7 gold medals in World Championships, Olympic Games and World Indoor Championships to his name. Eaton announced his retirement in 2017, a few months after defending his title in the 2016 Rio Olympics. He currently lives in Eugene, OR with his wife and fellow gold medalist Brianne Theisen.
Robert Dale Maxwell
Maxwell was a decorated former U.S. Army soldier who was awarded the highly coveted Medal of Honor for his heroism and valor during the infamous Second World War. Maxwell died at 98 in mid-2019 at his home in Bend city.
